After you define a device group and the devices assigned to it, you can add this device group to a scope group to allow or prevent devices from accessing network assets. For example, your organization dedicates a range of IP addresses to its printers in New Jersey. You can enable device filtering at the scope group level to allow only the devices within the LGA printers device group.
You can enable or disable device filtering when you are creating or editing a scope group via the NS1 API and/or the NS1 Connect portal.

You can use the NS1 API to determine which scope groups have device filtering enabled:
List all scope groups
View scope group details
You can use the following endpoints to enable or disable device filtering for a scope group:
Create a scope group
Edit a scope group
To enable or disable filters for device groups, you first need to navigate to the Scope Groups page in the NS1 Connect portal. Click the DHCP link in the navigation, then select Management from the sub-navigation. The list of scope groups displays.

From this point, you can follow the instructions to create or edit scope group settings.
