When you delete a zone, you remove all zone configuration data and corresponding DNS records from the NS1 nameservers. In order to stop resolvers from attempting to connect with the NS1 nameservers, you must remove them from the nameserver delegation at the domain registrar or, if applicable, within the primary or parent zone configuration.
Follow the instructions below to delete an existing zone.
-
In the portal, navigate to DNS > Zones and click the name of the zone to drill down into the zone details.
-
Click Zone settings and scroll to the bottom of the page.
-
Click Delete zone.
-
When prompted, confirm the change by clicking Yes, delete (zone name).
-
If you haven't already, update the nameserver delegation for the domain, replacing the NS1 nameservers with those provided by your new DNS provider.
