Users with NS1 and PagerDuty accounts can configure up/down monitoring alerts pertaining to the NS1 platform delivered via PagerDuty. Follow the instructions below to configure the integration.
Log in to your team's PagerDuty account, and then navigate to Configuration > Services (from the drop-down menu).
Click Add New Service.
Under Integration Settings, select the option to Use our API directly. Complete the form fields in accordance with your team's standard operating procedures.
Click Add Service to generate a new integration key.
In the NS1 portal, navigate to the Monitors page from the main navigation. Click the name of an existing monitoring job (i.e., probe) to drill into monitor details, and then click the Notifications tab in the sub-navigation.
Refer to the Monitoring section of the NS1 Help Center for more information on creating specific types of monitoring jobs.
Under Attach a notification list, select an existing notification list to which you want to add the PagerDuty notifier, and then click Edit List.
If you do not have an existing notification list or you do not want to modify the existing lists, refer to Setting up notifications lists.
Click Add New Notifier.
Under Select Notifier Type, select PagerDuty from the drop-down list.
Enter the PagerDuty key generated in step 1, and then click Add to List.
Once complete, click Save Changes.
Now, notifications related to this monitor are sent to PagerDuty whenever the up/down status changes for the monitored endpoint. You can update this at any time. PagerDuty notifications include up/down status, monitor name, URL, timestamp, and region.
