NS1 supports two-factor authentication (2FA) with TOTP for secure access to the NS1 platform. You can enable 2FA on your individual account or, if you are an account administrator, you can enforce two-factor authentication for everyone in your organization.
Note
If you are locked out of your account due to 2FA restrictions, contact your account administrator or someone with the "Manage users" permission enabled to reset your 2FA code. If necessary, contact the NS1 support team.
Warning
Before enabling 2FA on your NS1 account, ensure you have installed Google Authenticator or another TOTP app on your device.
-
In the NS1 portal, click your username in the upper-right corner. From the drop-down menu, select Account Settings > Your Profile.
-
Click the toggle next to Enable 2-Factor Authentication to enable this option on your account. This reveals a QR code and TOTP key.
-
In your TOTP authentication app, scan the QR code or manually enter the TOTP key to generate a device authentication code. Back in the NS1 portal, enter this 6-digit code, and then click Verify Authentication.
Note
Refer to Enforcing two-factor authentication (2FA) for all users to learn more about enforcing two-factor authentication for all users within your organization.
After enabling 2FA on your account or if it has been enabled globally, follow the instructions below to log in using 2FA.
-
Navigate to https://my.nsone.net and log in with your username and password. If enabled properly, you are prompted to enter the two-factor token.
-
Use your device's TOTP authentication app to redeem or generate a new token. Enter this code and click Sign in to complete secure login.
