The IBM NS1 Connect platform supports two-factor authentication (2FA) using time-based one-time passwords for secure access to your account. You can enable 2FA on your individual account or, if you are an account administrator, you can enforce 2FA for all users associated with your account.
Note
If you are locked out of your account due to 2FA restrictions, contact your account administrator or someone with the "Manage users" permission enabled to reset your 2FA code. If necessary, contact the NS1 support team.
Warning
Before enabling 2FA on your NS1 account, ensure you have installed Google Authenticator or another TOTP app on your device.
You must have access to a device with a TOTP authentication app installed, such as Google Authenticator or similar, prior to enabling 2FA on your account. If enforcing 2FA across your account, ensure all users are aware that a TOTP authentication app will be required to log in.
Refer to the relevant instructions below to enable 2FA on your individual account or to enforce it for all account users.
Follow the instructions below to enable 2FA for your NS1 Connect account only.
-
Click your username in the top right corner of the portal and navigate to Settings > Your profile.
-
Click the toggle next to Enable 2-Factor Authentication. A QR code and TOTP key appear.
-
In your TOTP authentication app, scan the QR code or manually enter the TOTP key to generate a device authentication code.
-
Return to the NS1 Connect portal and enter the six-digit code provided by your authentication app.
-
Click Verify authentication.
On your next login, you will use the authentication app to generate a TOTP you need to log into the portal. If you can no longer access the device on which you set up 2FA, contact the support team to request a reset.
If you are an account administrator, follow the instructions below to enforce 2FA for all users associated with your NS1 Connect account.
-
Click your username in the top right corner of the portal and navigate to Settings > Security settings.
-
Click the toggle next to Enforce two-factor authentication for all users to enable this option.
On their next login, each user will be required to set up 2FA using a TOTP authentication app. If a user loses their 2FA key, an account administrator can reset it by clicking the lock icon next to the user listed on the Users page. If an admin cannot access the authenticated device, they must contact the NS1 support team from the email address associated with their NS1 account.
