Every IBM NS1 Connect account has a predefined limit of incoming DNS queries to your domains per month as well as the total number of records, monitors, and Filter Chains that can be created within the account. The limits are based on your plan type or billing contract. You can configure overage alerts to notify you and others via email when the number of incoming queries or the number of DNS records configured reaches the defined low threshold, and then again if it reaches the high threshold.
By default, any user with the "Notify this user about billing events" permission option enabled will receive an overage alert email when the number of DNS queries reaches 50% of the monthly limit, and then again when it reaches 80%. You can adjust these thresholds and enable alerts related to record count if desired.
Upon receiving an overage alert email, you can proceed without action or request an increase to the number of queries or records included in your plan by emailing support@ns1.com. If the number of incoming queries exceeds the plan limit, you may be subject to overage charges. If you have a free developer account and the number of queries continues to exceed the plan limit, you must upgrade or risk account closure.
