If you or your organization are new to the NS1 Connect platform, you can create a free developer account to get started. Every account has access to core platform features, including NS1’s advanced traffic steering. You can create and publish zones to the Managed DNS name servers and create a Filter Chain™ to optimize traffic distribution across multiple endpoints.
The free developer account includes:
-
5 million queries per month
Incoming DNS queries to your zones and records are tracked against the monthly limit set on your account. Incoming DNS queries to your zones and records are tracked against the monthly limit set on your account.
-
500 DNS records
Note that, unlike traditional resource records that contain only one answer, NS1 records support multiple answers—eliminating the need to create multiple records of the same type for the same domain.Note that, unlike traditional resource records that contain only one answer, NS1 records support multiple answers—eliminating the need to create multiple records of the same type for the same domain.
-
1 Filter Chain™
The Filter Chain is a tool to configure a traffic steering policy for an individual record. You can select from a variety of traffic steering filters, combining and rearranging them to define the routing logic the platform will use to determine the best answer to return to each client at the time of their request.
-
1 monitor
Create an NS1 monitor to track an endpoint’s availability (up/down status), and then use this to automatically update traffic steering behavior as conditions change. Note that there are no limitations on the number of third-party data sources you can connect to the NS1 Connect platform.
If you already have an NS1 account and want to increase your account limits, contact the NS1 customer support.
Go to ns1.com/signup and complete the form to sign up for a free developer account on the IBM NS1 Connect platform. Once the account is created, you can log into the NS1 Connect portal at my.nsone.net to get started.
Note: You will receive a notification if the number of incoming queries to your domains exceeds the account limit, at which point we recommend upgrading your account. Continued breach of the limit may result in account deletion. Free developer accounts are deleted after 180 days of inactivity.
At any point, you can upgrade your account to increase the monthly query limit and the maximum number of records, Filter Chain configurations, and monitors. Upgrading your account also gives you access to the NS1 customer support team.
To upgrade from a free developer account, submit the contact form at ns1.com/contact-us.
If you already have a paid plan and wish to increase your account limits, submit a request to the customer support team.
